I watched the first episode and found it very boring. Didn't plan on watching the rest. I did not hear about the awful reviews prior to watching. It's not that the show is bad. It just wasn't as engaging as the other Netflix/Marvel shows. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were amazing. If you took the first two episodes of Daredevil and made them into a movie, it would be the best movie released by Marvel. Marvel is simply a victim of its own success.

Also, what is up with the white-washing controversy? Wasn't Iron Fist a white American in the comics? I wasn't an Iron Fist fan, but I remember his name was Danny Rand. That sounds pretty white to me.

I liked Daredevil but I was lukewarm on Jessica Jones. If I wasn't crazy about that do you think its worth me watching Luke Cage?

This is good TV time, in any event. There are currently new seasons of Homeland, Billions, Black Sails and The Americans, all shows I rather enjoy.

I'm a little lukewarm on JJ, too. Luke Cage might be the best of all of them. Depending on how I feel on any particular day, I might rank it higher than S1 of DD, sometimes not. I'd definitely watch it.

Haven't seen it.

It looks like another East meets West thing. Unless it has Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker or the guys from Bulletproof Monk, IDGAF.

Okay, so I'm now 7/13ths through and I feel even more strongly about the critics being wrong about the IF series. However, that is not want I want to talk about today....

If you've progressed in the series to the point I have, you know that there's a major character death in ep.7. If you watched Luke Cage all the way through you know that there was one also in that series. My question is: Game of Thrones influence, anyone? Is this something that anyone might have noticed in other ongoing TV series? I'm a bit narrow in my viewing habits, so I thought I would solicit thoughts from the forum.

Maybe just that GoT effected change in what Geeks consider authentic storytelling, kinda like The Shield TV program did to cop shows?
