First off, did you survive Harvey unscathed? Secondly, as is fairly well known, I am a transactional lawyer and only litigate against the IRS. Would you know of any good CLE (either in-person or virtual) for state lit practice in our state? I'm looking for a real nuts/bolts and how to efile, etc... I literally didn't even take state civ pro or trial procedure, as I knew from 1L my fate would be Biglaw transactional and lit against the IRS only.

I'm now looking to take on a VERY select amount of probate work and civil lit for a few beloved clients. FYI, I have Dorsaneo's, which is great...but I literally need the "go to this website to efile, tell the clerk X, etc..."

If the answer is "go find a small firm mentor to help you", I'll understand that as well. Thanks in advance and I hope all is well down south!

Hey, Dude.

Here's an efiling service: https://efile.txcourts.gov/OfsWeb/

The Texas Bar is putting on the annual Advanced Civil Trial CLE next month in Houston.

Dorsaneo's (I assume you mean the Texas Litigation Guide) is good. Very good. You just need to understand the structure of a case from deciding jurisdiction, all the way to appeal. Dorsaneo's is organized pretty well.

Dorsaneo's is a large set. For the sake of brevity and a better overview, I suggest you also get O'Connor's. Best $106 you'll spend if you want to do litigation.

Fortunately, no flooding for me, but I have friends who flooded. Been helping with the gutting process. It's hard work.
