So I read the book "Lawyer's Lawyer" about John W. Davis. He was the 1924 Democratic nominee for president and the namesake of the above firm, the Tiffany of Wallstreet firms. More importantly he argued Brown v Board of Education on the segregationist side for the State of South Carolina. As we are taking down statues and renaming stuff and all do you think this firm will be renamed? I'm shocked it has not been brought up. Thoughts?

Not gonna happen.

The imperative of removing racist names comes to an abrupt halt if the prestige of the agitators may be reduced.

For example, Yalies screamed about changing the name of Calhoun College - because no one off campus gives a fig and, on campus, agitating for the dormitory name change increases their prestige.

But they stop cold at renaming Yale, because, hey, who wants to go into job interviews saying she attended Central Connecticut Coastal University.

With leftists, it's always about their vanity and preening.

Dixie State University (previously Dixie State College) in St. George, Utah has received some criticism for its name. Of course, John Browning from Browning firearms is one of its notable alumni. The school removed a statue in 2015.

You could probably find dirt on just about every named partner for every law firm. The penny pinchers at the firm would have to justify the cost. If it would retain or bring in more clients, then say goodbye to tradition. Firm names change all of the time.
