I don't work in insurance defense, but that's a fantastic summary of litigation in general.

One thing I'd add under the defense partner's profile:
- A lot dumber and lazier than his website profile would lead you to believe

Insurance defense can be excellent if you work in house for a carrier. Solid benefits, 50-55 hours if you want to be that intense, some trials, no billing (I only know one carrier that bills), solid litigation experience (if civil lit, not workers' comp) and no back stabbing people all trying to make partner.
