Approximately five years ago:

Doc reviewer: I do doc review because it is the best thing out there. I worked at a sleazy PI firm for over 10 years. Now I can do doc review. While it is mindless and brainless and the pay is low, it is the best profession to have.

Nighthawk: Seriously? Why not try to get a job that pays decently, has some intellectual aspect, and gives you a chance at upward mobility. Plus some benefits and seeing the sun during the day?

Doc reviewer: It's hopeless, better to do doc review and struggle

Yesterday:

Doc reviewer (in a text): I am no longer in the doc review business or legal for that matter; I work in real estate

Nighthawk: sounds good

First time in history that a career doc reviewer psychologically unchained himself from relativity?

A lot of doc reviewers psych themselves out. The vast majority I've worked with are demonstrably hard-working and intelligent attorneys.

What I have seen is that they take a long time to warm up to a risk. Which, given that we're lawyers, professional pessimists by trade, I don't find too surprising.

Oh, this thread is about a doc review lifer getting off the circuit? I was going to chime in about a highly credited Van Halen song

I did almost 5 years of doc review then got out. I do IT compliance and security work now.

Funny bit was hearing the responses from agency recruiters. Most were really happy to hear that I got out.

The movie was cool and it was nice to see Jamie Foxx in something good for once.

You should check out his interview on the Tim Ferriss Podcast.
