I have a client clocked doing 27 miles over the speed limit within NYC (Queens). Just wondering how this should unfold re appearing on his behalf (do I have to file a motion or just tell them?), defenses, etc.
Also, what's the going rate for something like this? $400?

NYC won't plea bargain, so you will need to take it to trial (eventually..... because trial dates are a year and a half out). Once at trial, three things can happen, one being the cop doesn't show and the ticket gets dismissed, two, the cops shows and it proceeds to trial but the ALJ reduces the ticket, three some sort of motion is made and it's dismissed.

$400 is a going rate, but keep in mind you will make 2-3 appearances. You need a few more cases to bundle to make it worthwhile.
