I imagine both are true. Craigslist is loaded with jobs but they do have a higher attorney concentration then most jurisdictions. You can have a ton of jobs but still twice as many constantly applying for them.

This question is too vague...

It is a big market, what are your credential, skills and experience?

Depending how you answer those questions, the answer will range from dead end to you should have moved here years ago.

I would way that it is a better market than other major places but that is still depended on who you are.

The market is excellent for those who have top schools, fantastic grades, a sterling employment history, lots of relevant experience, and several million in portables.

Screw up with any one of those and it becomes a lot more challenging.

Supposedly, the swamp is being drained, and the Department of State is being hollowed out.

That said, the DC employment market depends on funding, and the fiscal year just ended.

Of course, mathematicians will tell 95% of you aspiring lawyers that twice nothing is still nothing.

The supply of aspiring lawyers in DC is overwhelming. The demand depends on funding as well as employed lawyers burrowing in and outlasting the attempts at draining and hollowing.
