So when I used to be in private practice there was one firm known for just sucking at life Schank & Associates. They would go through people like toilet paper. On the one case I had against them they had 4 different attorneys handle the matter... it was a cluster. I always wondered how they could have so many offices with that level of turnover/quality of work.

Well I guess it didn't last forever. I have just heard they are closing down all their locations except I guess one in Southern California. Have any one else ever worked with them before? If so what is happening to all their cases?

Yes there are several mills out there in Family Law. Schank was the worst I knew of. Cordelle & Cordelle is also a mill...but at least their attorneys are competent.

They have more locations than attorneys listed on the website. If that's true, then that must be pretty impressive.

Mills are not concerned with quality of work. Mills exist for one, and only one, reason: to extract money from the insurance company. They aspire to be as INEFFICIENT as possible so as to amass more billable events.

As for what will happen to their cases--there may not be any more cases. Since almost all cases settle, the insurance companies may just circumvent defending the case and just settle them right away. After 20+ years of this scam, the insurers know how much it will cost for the plaintiff to go away.
