Hi, I've been a staff attorney at a securities litigation firm for 10 years, and I'd like to move on. I'd like to work as associate for a (much) smaller firm, or for my state's regulatory body. As such, I need a writing sample. I write regularly, but it's almost entirely internal memos or small portions of larger filings. The memos are too fact specific, and I can't really send section II.b of a SJ response as a writing sample. I've done a thorough search of my outbox, and I don't have anything I can use. Also, I don't have anything from law school, as that was a decade ago.

My question is this: Does anybody know where I might find a selection of writing prompts? Or something similar? For me, the tyranny of a blank page is a very real thing if I don't have a specific assignment. I've been stuck on this question for sometime, but I'm hoping that I can start working on my sample by the new year. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, that sounds like a great suggestion, but I'm not sure what you're referring to. There are some somewhat similar hits on Google (or Google News, or Google Scholar), but nothing really close to this title. Do you have a link? Thanks for the input.
