It’s cool to be poor these days. The elites are evil and the source of every problem so I’m told so why do even sjw companies only employ lawyers who went to top law schools? Why do they retain only firms that have lawyers who went to top law schools? Maybe this could become the next movement

You're asking why Fortune 500 companies only hire AmLaw 100 firms instead of Bob Smith, Attorney at Law in the strip mall next to the Chinese takeout place?

You are right, it is unfair to most whites... It's really just upper middle class and wealthy whites who benefit from the current scheme.

The people who are hiring these biglaw firms, even if they support the Social justice movements, are part of the elite class. They aren't protesting against their very existence. Billy Joe's bike shop that has Bernie Sanders stickers in his window isn't hiring Latham to negotiate their contracts for new bike chains.

I don't see google, facebook, or whatever else executives rallying against elite professionals. Though they do make their position known in other ways, isn't it Facebook that won't hire a law firm that doesn't have a minimal level of diversity? So if they can find a firm who is considered the "best of the best" and is willing to meet their arbitrary criteria, why would they not hire them?

Further shareholders don't care about elitism or anything other than share prices going up or receiving larger dividends. So when that is who you're ultimately accountable to, after a huge loss in court, it's much easier to say, "well we spared no expense and hired one of the top litigation firms in the world," than try to explain, "Well the outcome was going to be the same either way so we hired new grad solo Billy, who did it at a reduced rate of $50/hour to gain experience."

Yep. The business judgment rule allows companies to make token gestures of social responsibility, but at the end of the day the fiduciary duty of the directors and officers is to maximize shareholder value by any and all legal means. Every traded company's real product is its stock. Whatever it is that they sell, and anything else they do, is nothing more than a means to an end.

If something happens that could make that stock price go down, you'd better be able to tell the shareholders that you spared no expense trying to prevent that from happening, or a derivative suit or proxy fight is headed your way, and that right soon.

A lot of these elites, with the US economy being what it is, and by that I mean more monopolistic than in a long time, have a lot of "pricing power". Their "legal costs" are a cost of doing business, fully deductible under tax law and capable of being "built into" the cost of the product or service they sell on the open market.

Simple!

A SJW is leftist. Where do you think a law school falls on the political spectrum??

The "grievance" industry is entirely based on attacking Republican-friendly organizations, and they're believed to be funded by anti-Republican groups and people.

Thus, don't expect the SJW to suddenly go after law schools. They (or their financial backers) need law schools alive and well to pontificate about the shortcomings of the Constitution and formulating ways to circumvent it.

Although, it would behoove the conservatives to begin attacking law schools and higher education in general. Just a thought.

I think feminists have no loyalty even to the left so they are going after Hollywood and the news media despite those being left wing

Feminists have no loyalty even to other women.

I'm old enough to remember how they treated Bill Clinton's accusers in the 1990s.

Also, note the standing ovation the Hollywood crowd gave Roman Polanski when he won his Oscar for "The Pianist." The video is making the rounds on social media, and it makes a point of showing Meryl Streep's reaction. Polanski was a known pedophile AND a fugitive from justice. In recent months, even more women came forward accusing him of assault.

They are complete and utter hypocrites!!!

That being said, this current movement of going after Hollywood is itself orchestrated and "paid for" behind the scenes. It's all an attempt to take down Trump and his supporters. They hope to "lower the bar" so low that the mere allegation of any type of impropriety is enough to destroy the President.

It won't work!
