Are you finding that clients and potential clients are in horrible situations? I am finding more people with problems compounded with mental health, substance abuse and complex domestic situations. It seems that the division between the "normal" pool of client's and the others has gotten far more extreme. I have 3 cases in court over the next 2 days where my clients have deteriorated greatly. I have another old client coming back with massive new family law problems. Are you finding the same?

I remember at one job we were going through possible plaintiffs in a class action case and almost every single person had weird financial history and at least one bankruptcy. And these were all middle-class red state respectable boomers.

I think there were plenty of problem clients in the past, people were just socially motivated to keep things hidden for their own problems and their family's problems. Used to be the crazy druggie uncle would be kept hidden in some house out in the country funded by the entire family, or the mentally ill cousin would stay in the basement.

I practice in a state with high addiction and od rates and few resources. I think I am seeing the results of that. The lack of mental health care shows.
