“I am a parent of a first year law student at Savannah Law School and my emails to Dean Morris were ignored. These students were promised a "wonderful Savannah Law School family" and got this STRESS! We were told at 2017 orientation that we needed to help our law students financially, emotionally, physically as not to stress them during the year and now SLS has done just that. They are asking our students to relocate to John Marshall Atlanta for a measly $2000 scholarship- Are you joking? Savannah Law School was just telling our 1L students JMLS had lower ABA numbers than Savannah. Why would our students want to attend school there? What about apartment leases, what about credit that do NOT transfer to other schools, what about the bond that has already been created? They can stay for a "teach out"- JOKE! These great professors will look for secure positions at schools that do not undermine them and lie to them. This faculty has a life outside of teaching where they must take care of their households. Answer us SLS decision makers!”

What a pleasant surprise this morning. They aren't even making a Valprasio-esque attempt to claim they aren't officially closing.

Honestly, I can't believe so many of these really lousy, unranked schools have made it so long. Sure, there's free student loan money, but you still need a decent number of paying students to keep the lights on.

for a failure factory the tuition was pretty low 21k. Still not worth it, but I think it does indicate where the real number for failure factory solvency is.

This long? It seems like this school didn’t even make it more than 5-6 years. I had never heard of it until the last poster mentioned it in that other thread and used to live within a few hours’ drive of Savannah.

This would be a great scenario for a bar exam question. What are the rights/duties with regard to apartment leases? Anyone think the closing of a law school excuses a tenant from his obligations under a lease made in reliance on the school's continuing existence?

Is this "school" even ABA approved? I looked at the most recent USNWR rankings and did not see this school listed under the unranked schools or otherwise.

I will say that Savannah is a lovely city.

And why on earth would JMLS choose to acquire the building and open a new law school dead smack in the middle of a cataclysmic enrollment plunge?

It was a satellite campus of John Marshall Law in Atlanta for quite a few years (which is terrible; they were once sued, I believe, by John Marshall in Chicago for damaging their "reputation" - and John Marshall in Chicago is awful too, albeit not that awful).

Supposedly it got separate status - but maybe lies like everything else in the LS scam? In any case, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Dunno if closed institutions applies (it should) or if it being a satellite campus will be resurrected to block it - after all, they can to to JM in Atlanta... these people (existing students) have a chance to hit EJECT on the biggest mistake of their lives, but knowing the kind of folks who go to schools like this... they'll likely just dig deeper.
