The people who used to post here talked me out of going to a 30ish ranked school on partial scholarship and racking up serious debt.

Haven’t visited here in a couple years. Looks like things are more positive! Good to see. Keep rockin, people.

I'm a lurker who's been around since then, back when people started talking about the "Valvoline Dean". I also jumped off the bandwagon at 0L, then got accepted to Pharmacy School and didn't matriculate, then finally made a move into software development which has been great.

Posts like this making me happy.

But Thinking about the next legal holocaust that is going to happen and the professor vermin profiting handsomely from it makes me furious.

It takes humility to do what you guys did and you should be very proud. Stick around to see how bad things are going to get for the idiots enrolling now.

The professors are among the beneficiaries but they don't control the system. It's the deep state at the federal level that wants to handcuff Americans into a never-ending cycle of debt. The education department hands out money like candy to all schools no matter how unscrupulous they are. The federal bureaucracy protects the schools so no regulatory action is taken against them. Even the last resort of the aggrieved, the courts, do nothing to advance cases despite mountains of evidence of impropriety.

State-level officials like attorneys general have sought action against student loan services but have been repeatedly ignored or rebuffed by the courts and by the feds.

"It's the deep state at the federal level that wants to handcuff Americans into a never-ending cycle of debt."

It is important that voters rely on evidence to enable them to tell the difference between bad policies with unintended consequences and loony conspiracy theories.

wearyattorney,

This is the second longest period SINCE 1850 without a recession. You’re right. There’s gonna be a slaughter soon.

This makes me mad. I wrote some great Bob Dylan parodies in 2013-ish where I mocked the poster who wanted to sue Bob Dylan for copyright infringement. You can find a link back to 2010 but my parodies are lost like tears in rain.

I will also say, the posters on this board have always been cool. The old TLS crowd were arrogant tools.

OP, good call. But you failed to tell us what you did while your more risk tolerant (reckless?) peers attended law school and became lawyers (some of them, anyways).

Mapmaster,

Continued in sales. Financially way ahead of where I likely would have been. Almost have a 750k townhouse paid off in a west coast city.
