NC bar rates have been going down for years... I wonder why... Is there correlation with dropping admission standards starting in 2011 and dropping bar passage rates since 2014?

We just don't know. There is no way to tell. Lower bar passage rates is nobody's fault... This is just how things are.

We need bar passage relief for idiots now!!!

That school was a joke, and it was fault of the jerkoff owners of that private equity fund (Infinilaw?) that set up the scam in the first place. I hope the equity fund partners lost money over it, but I doubt it. Probably just some banks that ended up getting screwed by the closing of the school.

The former North Carolina Supreme Court justice said at the end of the article "graduates of our law schools — public, private or for-profit — are already intellectually qualified to become lawyers. They don’t need a one-shot exam to prove that. There doesn’t have to be a bar exam."

Well, if it's so important to him, he should work to get the law changed to like it is in Wisconsin - you graduate from an accredited law school in the state, you're qualified to practice law and automatically licensed. The bar exam is only for people from
non-Wisconsin law schools that want to practice in the state. Is Wisconsin over-saturated with lawyers because of this? I have no idea, but North Carolina already appears to be and doing away with the bar exam requirement will only make it more so.

Is the retired justice going senile? He seems to be losing his logical reasoning skills. It goes without saying that the likelihood someone with a sub-145 LSAT score is going to pass the bar exam is very low. I know people who taught at Charlotte School of Law, and they said the students were awful. The only attorney I've meet with a degree from there no longer practices.

It seems that he's cherrypicking his numbers. He says that 2/3rds of grads from NC schools failed, but he was using the February bar which is disproportionately taken by people who have already failed it, didn't take the bar after graduating for some reason, or graduated sometime other than May which means nontrads and night school. Of course there are others who take it for other reasons, like lawyers already barred somewhere else who just take it whenever it is next administered, but overall, the Feb bar always has a disproportionate number of failures.

The real bar that non-screw-ups take is in July, and that bar exam's NC school passage rate rocketed up to nearly 75%, directly correlated with the closure of CSOL:

The bar exam is racist. The LSAT is racist. GPAs are racist.

What isn’t racist? 250k in nondischargeable debt funneled through minority debt conduits and into the pockets of Caucasian law professors. That’s liberal and egalitarian.
