USAJOBS has about 4 listings. I think they were Phoenix, Boston, New Orleans, and Albuquerque. They said they have many vacancies, and it is listed as being open for 2 weeks or first 200 applicants for each one so if you have any interest I would apply quick.

Yup I applied a couple hours ago. Would love the Boston office. Wonder what these jobs are like. From the vacancy announcements, it sounds like these cities are locations of new offices they will be opening up. I kind of like that idea.

They are just decision writer jobs with production quotas. And yes, all of those are the proposed new offices.

I doubt you'll find much. OMHA is a very young agency-I think it began in 2006 and small, less than 1K employees across the existing offices. Two attorneys are assigned to each judge but there is also a pool of attorneys for overflow work as well as a handful of senior subject matter attorneys. Boston and I think the New Mexico office are supposed to eventually ultimately get 23 judges but it will likely take a couple of years for them to get to that level-they want to start small. Most of the current offices have 18 judges.

Also, it has been part of OMHA's history that they were all set to go in one city but then that fell through and at the last minute they opened an office in another city. As no personnel are in any of these new offices yet, they aren't set in stone.

If you find out if there is a production quota, or anything else about the job, post a link. I couldn't find anything concrete about the job.

Those are decision writer jobs for government health program determinations. I saw some other "General Attorney Advisor" jobs on the HHS website and AHLA website, but those look to be more sophisticated healthcare attorney type jobs.

I applied to the Arlington, VA opening that actually was only open for four days-they must have started receiving a lot of applications. anyone know what the hiring process will be like for these?

There will be an interview. Likely no writing test and then likely references checked and then an offer. I don't know the interview questions, and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you, if that's what you're asking.

oh just wondering more about timeframe-the job application said "next 18 months." But didn't know if hiring for these jobs was on the fast track. Wasn't asking about specific interview questions.

OMHA is a young agency and just a major budget increase. They are advertised positions for four new offices in the country-Phoenix, Alburqueque (sp), New Orleans, and Boston. They currently have, I believe, 5 or 6 offices, including one in Arlington. They advertised internally for people in those offices to transfer and help start the new ones. The people who put in for a transfer are being told to pack their bags now. The new offices will start in waves-they won't be fully staffed when they open or even a year after they open. The established offices will need people to replace the veterans. Things are apparently moving fast, but when any given office will need new hires (especially the established offices) is something that is hard to predict.

I just saw 4 Supervisory Attorney Advisor positions, just one vacancy for each city. It's been open since the 8th and closes tomorrow. As long as there is just one vacancy I am not so sure if I am going to have any chance at all.
