Consider getting your CIPP/US certification. It will set you a part from the competition. Very few attorneys have it.

I'm in this space. I think in the last 1-2 years a sizable number of attorneys already got the CIPP certificate. With that said, it is still helpful.

I worked tech trans and privacy at a biglaw firm prior to going inhouse. This got my foot in the door for inhouse positions. It was pretty easy for me to get an inhouse position with biglaw experience. My guess is that the pay range will be 130-150k due to the job being in Madison Wisconsin.
