Excuse the cheesy thread, but with all the negativity around the profession so often, I thought it'd be cool to just put this out there - what lawyer (real or fictional) inspired you? And how?

Edward Marshall Hall aka 'the great defender' - the rock star of the Edwardian bar.

He may not have been very knowledgeable of the law but he threw everything at keeping his clients away from the hangmans noose.

I was an engineer working in oil, chemical, and power plants—mostly around Houston. LA Law was on tv, and I thought that wearing a nice suit in an air conditioned office seemed nicer than wearing grease covered nomex coveralls out in the hot Houston sun. Ironically i wear shorts to the office in the summer, and khakis and a polo shirt in warmer weather.

Jan Schlictman (by virtue of John Travolta playing him in a Civil Action). I also loved Matthew McConaughey in A Time to Kill.

When I was in undergrad I was a bank teller and was held up. The State Attorney handling the case came to interview us. I thought he had a neat job, investigating crimes, robberies and prosecuting the perp.

I never got a job as a prosecutor.
