Any advice? We use a small number of key words and don't spend a lot. Seems to be effective but I can't seem to get good advice other than spend a lot more.

I have a relative whose entire career revolves around helping people make better use of adwords. Analyzing which words to use or not use, what brings the most traffic, etc.

I got no useful advice, other than hire a professional - but don't do that unless you have the budget to do it

I use it. Generally for criminal related searches. It has worked, generates phone calls and at least two paying clients that I know of. Spending more is great - but I set a budget of $4 a day. Now this gets me 1 or 2 clicks and maybe 80-150 impressions a day.

I have almost no idea what I'm doing as well. However, "Google" called me one day and actually helped set up some decent keywords and an ad at no charge. That was really helpful and I'm using that. I've also set up a lot of negative words, I do not want people searching for a "cheap" lawyer for example.

So in conclusion you CAN get some results for low money but if you don't know what's going on maybe call them toll free and they can help. I do think Google wants you to like using it.

I get spammed weekly for sure with adwords 3rd party emails, I am not sure I recommend those. Call Google direct if you want some free help.
