Do you work there? How's the work / life balance? How many cases are attorneys expected to handle?

I read in another thread that there's a billable hour minimum - Can you confirm? Is it akin to private practice where the billing is closely tracked or scrutinized? What are the long term prospects of staying? What's the vacation package like? I guess we can start with those, ha.

If it’s like other staff counsel offices, there is a billable hour requirement but it’s not “real” billing like you’d have on the outside. It’s just to account for your time and to track expenses and time on the file. There’s no issue about overbilling or bill cutting like you’d find at an ID firm. As long as entries are sufficiently specific, block billing is ok.

Pretty sure vacation starts at 22 days PTO.

Not familiar with that specific office and things will vary based on manager but work life balance was good in that you made your own schedule and independently managed your cases. But it was a lot of work. Lots of reporting requirements that don’t necessarily make sense for individual files. Lots of box checking. Not bad in that if you can play the game you can do well. But if you someone adverse to that, probably not the right fit.
