These numbers are always so deceptive. They don't include people who graduated from law school and passed the bar exam but couldn't find a job. They don't include people who worked as lawyers and couldn't make enough to survive and then took another job outside law. And typically they under count the representation of small firm attorneys who obviously make a lot less than large firm and government attorneys

That article is too cumbersome to get through on a cellphone, and it's full of ads that you'll have to get past. I wonder how they got the statistics, from actual tax returns? Not even my bar association asks how much we're making. I've known of too many people who couldn't get jobs, hated being lawyers and switched careers, and/or washed out of the profession in less than 10 years. I'll be lucky to make 80k this year.

I assume this is from the U.S. Department of Labor. The BLS reports income by state and by occupation.
