Damning complaint. If those claims are true, the firm deserves to go bankrupt.

Many years ago I worked there as a temp legal assistant on sone project putting exhibits together . While we were still working on it I got a call telling me I was fired because the final project had a mistake made by me on it. We hadn’t even finished and there was no way they could know what work I did unless they took my finger prints . So what happened is they missed their deadline and blamed me . My supervisor who was an associate didn’t want me to leave but he took some phone call and apparently they told him someone needed to take the fall

I call bull. Blaming a temp legal assistant for missing a deadline? No client would buy that

Maybe they were in on it? Who knows. I was just a temp and I was told I made some fatal error on exhibits that were submitted. Thing is they were not submitted becatse we were working on them and they hadn’t been sent so clearly there was a deadline issue and also no way to identify work I did and literally all I did was put exhibit tabs on paper documents

They must have really pissed off these ladies or the worker attitudes are changing. My understanding is what big law operates under idea that nobody will dare challenge their misconduct.

I’ve heard some hilarious Jones Day black box compensation stories...like 5th year associates getting a 600k bonus because they were engaged to a Partners daughter...or billing 3,000 hours and getting $0.

How do they justify 600k to the other partners?

Jones Day has a reputation for working its young associations many hours. The phrase "Jones Day and Night" is sometimes used to refer to lawyers working all day and night.
