Bill Clinton spent his second term normalizing trade with China and supporting China's bid for entry to the WTO. Cost millions of Americans low wage jobs and only created a few high wage jobs and lots of profits for others. Positive for the GDP in the first 10 years but hollowed out American manufacturing due to the knock-on effect.

So what is the answer? Did any of 26 democrats running, outside of the sanctimonious Sanders, support a get tough on China policy in 2016 or were supporting Clinton and TPP?

Sanders echoed Trump on China but sanctimoniously never came out and said so! I wonder why?

There two shockingly bad assumptions with this.

First, Hillary Clinton ultimately came out in opposition to TPP.

Even more importantly, TPP was created to counteract China. China hated TPP.

Wow. You must be one of the hysterical leftists who still hasn't accepted the election results. Everyday I see someone like you backtracking Hillary's views and stances. The left is so sadly still unwilling to accept the results.

Typical Hillary. Looked at the polling and tried to flip flop. She called TPP the gold standard. Look to debate 1! Stop the spin and answer me which Democrat supports the get tough with china policy so we know for 2020?

Both allowing China into the WTO and the TPP are bad.

Even more disgusting is that Bill Clinton did so just a few years after the 1989 Tiananmen massacre. "The number of civilian deaths was internally estimated by the Chinese government to be near or above 10,000."

Willy was paid off very well for his efforts. Also, since the generation writing his legacy (of which he is a part) are a bunch of short-sighted, drug addled, in-the-moment living, and hypocritical liars, his legacy is protected because the country didn’t feel immediate pain from what he was doing.

All the major manufacturing and tech companies had some variation of job called “outsourcing specialist” that became prevalent when he was President. Effectively, industry was still here, but you had to hire the people that were going to dismantle the economy. Compound this fact with favorable monetary policy from the Fed, the legitimate growth from the Internet, and the abolition of antitrust and banking laws that dramatically (but temporarily) provided access to credit, and you had a super drug addled Wood Stock high, followed by an extremely long and painful hangover we are still going through.

The internet bubble from 1995 to 2000 concealed all the bad stuff. He was doing poorly in 1994 when a release led by Gingrich led to 61 house seats gained by GOP. Then the bubble came....
