At its height 26,828 on October 3, 2018. Currently today December 24, 2018 the dow is at 21,857...when stocks are normally up because of spending. It is predicted we will be below 20,000 by March of 2019...these are January 20, 2017 numbers. Economists fear that it will not stop until Trump changes his horrible policies, or at somewhere around 15,000 of the dow....basically where we were in 2012. Soooo..yeah.

Don't forget that over time, they have kicked out Bad Firms like GE, GM, which have every reason to be in there. The 30 Firms listed in the Dow are totally arbitrary imho. Goldman Sachs and a bunch of healthcare and tech stocks are in there. So basically it consists of the types of rent-seeking Firms that basically shouldn't be going down because of all the $$$ propping them up. Whereas Firms that have to compete in somewhat competitive industries all just tank and get swept under the rug.

It's at times like this that I wonder, how is onehell's 403(b) faring? The same as a 401(k) would, I imagine, but I can only guess.

I love it. Just rebalanced to take advantage of today's lows and am transferring more into my taxable account. I feel like the market is finally fairly valued.

Corporate tax cuts and the low cost of debt really created a temporary sugar high. But what did it really lead to? A bunch of money wasted on buybacks instead of capex or deleveraging. Now rates are increasing, which we all knew they would, and balance sheets are suddenly coming into question. The corporate tax cut is the biggest fraud the Trump administration has pulled on the blue collar voter that put him in office.

I checked my accounts and am bummed out by how much I've lost in the past 6 months. So much for retiring in 5 to 10 years. sigh... well, merry Christmas JDU. It's been another fun year commiserating with you all.
