"US prosecutors have ordered the company that owns President Donald Trump's golf courses in Scotland to show its financial filings in an attempt to reveal the company's ownership, The Times of London reported." -- from Business Insider link above
got misled by "US attorneys" in headline, guess House Dems gonna get on it

Yes, I read through the story and then looked at the subpoena that was attached at the bottom of the article. That is how I figured out your post was wrong. I also understand what induced your post to be wrong. In a world full of bad legal reporting, that article is exceptionally horrendous in its presentation of the relevant legal proceedings. It does not surprise me that almost any lay reader would conclude that the subpoenas were from the Department of Justice. The article writer very likely did not know why his article was wrong or at best misleading. If he did, then he intentionally wrote it in a misleading way.

politifacts.com let me down, but this isn't fake news, just distorted news but not as bad as this trending news flash on facebook:

"No, Ronald Reagan didn't say meeting Trump felt like “shaking hands with the president”"
"For the life of me, and I’ll never know how to explain it, when I met that young man, I felt like I was the one shaking hands with the president," the post claims Reagan said about meeting Trump.
The image shows then-president Reagan shaking Trump's hand in the Blue Room at a reception for members of an art and preservation in embassies foundation.
But Joanne Drake, chief administrative officer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, said the quote attributed to the 40th president about the would-be 45th president is inaccurate: "He did not ever say that about Donald Trump," she said.
It was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.

Perhaps, just perhaps, my audience when commenting is not bftd.

Subpoena to Trump inaugural committee shows prosecutors probing an array of potential crimes: conspiracy against US, mail/wire fraud, money laundering, disclosure violations & violations of laws prohibiting contributions by foreign nations & straw donors https://t.co/SUseL6fYTG

This is a real subpoena by DOJ under Fed R. Crim P. 17. The subpoena vis a vis the golf course is real, but it’s a civil subpoena duces tecum under Rule 45 which is issued at the request of the party.

Mueller is so smart to pass this on to other prosecutors who are in no danger and can do whatever they want.

Trump's Legal Problems Might Outlast Robert Mueller's Investigation - The special prosecutor is handing off various deep dives into the bottomless lagoon of slime and corruption that is this administration*.
