Trump thinks he's real smart -- "after midterms things gonna be different, just hold on pal, play the game" -- some lawyers gonna be going down, saying as usual "but what about Trump?" -- funny how this lawyer game is played, they get used and discarded like yesterday's Kleenex -- Whitaker is one of those dupes cause he's just that stupid, those are the kind of lawyers Trump looks for and they're just as "open for business" as a Stormy Daniels is cause there ain't no difference really -- if you want to go down that road

MANAFORT PLEA DEAL IS TOAST -- how you like me now COWPOD?
"Special counsel Robert Mueller filed a complaint Monday alleging that
former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort BREACHED his plea
deal by lying during his interviews with prosecutors.
Manafort’s lies, which are not specified in the complaint, NULLIFY
all the promises federal prosecutors made to him as part of the plea
agreement he reached two months ago in the investigation over Russian
meddling in the 2016 presidential election, Mueller’s complaint argues.
“A breach relieves the government of any obligations it has under the
agreement, including its agreement to a reduction in the Sentencing
Guidelines for acceptance of responsibility, but leaves intact all the
obligations of the defendant as well as his guilty pleas,” the filing
reads."

after much pondering I came to the conclusion I don't give a (CENSORED) what you think bubba, just sayin'

"Paul Manafort’s plea agreement is a monstrously one-sided deal in favor of the government.
That’s what experts who talked to Roll Call unanimously concluded after taking a few hours to digest the former Trump campaign chairman’s decision to reach a bargain with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s prosecution team.
Manafort agreed as part of his plea deal Friday to “cooperate fully, truthfully, completely, and forthrightly” with Mueller’s team and other law enforcement officials. In exchange, the government will request that judges in Virginia and Washington,
D.C., hand him a sentence no longer than 10 years in prison for the 20 counts on which he has either pleaded or been found guilty"

I can't always follow what bftd is saying, but I always agree with what he says.

The Manafort plea really does make no sense. Either his lawyers are terrible or there's some other angle.

backfromthedead (Nov 12, 2018 - 5:50 pm)

the "other angle" is what this thread is all about -- why make Team Mueller think Manafort's suddenly having a "come to Jesus" moment re cooperation? and so soon after the midterms? Sessions couldn't touch that thing and the whole bureau knew it, Whitaker is under no such constraint and guaranteed he's started to make inquiries about the "Manafort thing", a kind of probing you could say -- the devastating midterms was not part of the plan -- Manafort is dangerous to Trump and others in that circle back in the run-up to the 2016 election

if it makes sense why have "second thoughts?"
from October 31
(CNN) — Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and special counsel Robert Mueller have been spending a whole lot of time together of late, according to CNN's Katelyn Polantz and Evan Perez. The duo write: "[Manafort] and his lawyers have visited Mueller's office in Washington at least nine times in the last four weeks, a strong indication that the special counsel is moving at a steady clip."
Manafort was one of only three Trump people in that Trump Tower meeting -- Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner were the other two. The fact that Mueller and his investigators are now inside that room is a BIG deal -- especially when you consider that Manafort has spent more than 50 hours with Mueller over the last month.

a few days after midterms from 1st link above -- Business Insider
"Paul Manafort is reportedly hitting the brakes on cooperating with Mueller"
Sonam Sheth Nov. 11, 2018, 7:26 PM

the 2 people closest to Trump, son / son-in-law, are in Mueller's crosshairs, probably the "only" ones that can directly implicate Trump -- was there some kind of "backroom deal" between Manafort, his lawyers & Trump? Is Whitaker in on the deal since he's not recused from the Russia investigation? I'm not saying anything that people with a lot more information don't know already -- incidentally the new head of the House Judiciary committee has already publicly stated Whitaker will be the first one called before the "NEW" committee --
two things have to happen for Trump to avoid implication in Russian collusion, Manafort has to go to jail / the Mueller investigation has to be over with Trunp Jr / Kushner not in jail, then Trump can pardon Manafort on his last day in office on Fed convictions (will there be state convictions, I don't know, that changes everything)-- that's the deal from a plebeian perspective, not like someone with real gravitas here on JDU -- cowpod

He posts to audience that is assumed to be up to date on all the issues of the trump investigation while injecting his own sarcasm into the topic.

The problem is most of us only pay casual attention to the investigation.

"Special counsel witness expects to be charged in Mueller probe"
The former Infowars Washington bureau chief, who recently testified before a federal grand jury in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, tells ABC News that after two months of closed-door talks with investigators, the special counsel has now indicated he will be charged within a matter of days.
“I don’t know what they’re going to charge me with,” said Jerome Corsi, who until recently served as the Washington, D.C., bureau chief for the controversial far-right media outlet Infowars, in an interview with ABC News on Monday. “I think my only crime was that I support Donald Trump. That's my crime, and now I'm going to go to prison for the rest of my life for cooperating with them,” he later added. --

So the liberal sites are reporting that the thing Manafort lied about is that ....

MANAFORT MET WITH ASSANGE AT THE EMBASSY IN LONDON WHILE HE WAS TRUMP'S CAMPAIGN MANAGER!

That sounds like, next to the definition of collusion in the dictionary, it would have a picture of Trump's campaign manager meeting with Assange during the campaign.
