impeachment is a joke constitutional process, invigorates congressional Trump Repub defenders with their base and makes Trump out to be a martyr, forget that, let the Dems prioritize their investigations and let Mueller indict everyone around Trump (family people esp) cause "a sitting president can't be indicted" right? when the public sees Trump as the "last man standing" let the 2020 election do its thing -- then the states / Mueller can "unseal" their indictments - that's the playbook

"Donald Trump’s Presidency Will Not Survive 2019, Ex-GOP Congressman Predicts:'Spectacular Political Crash-And-Burn’"
Nixon's demise was merciful compared to what's coming down the pike for Trump, at some point they're gonna have him all trussed up in a political version of a strait jacket like Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs -- Trumpklumpfs will collectively experience what is known as "the exploding head" syndrome - ha

Probably. I think Repubs will turn on him when the base does or if facts emerge that are devastating. Remember, Nixon had a lot republican support until a few weeks before he resigned. Things can change quickly. It feels like they are gearing up for an impeachment/resignation.

If the base continues to support him and the facts aren't too bad, I guess you might see a Clinton II - an impeachment and a Senate acquittal. But Democrats might not play that game.

Probably yes on impeachment. I think Mueller’s report comes out in 2019. I suspect it will include stuff that all Democrats believe constitute impeachable offenses. If there is even a 25% chance they can get a conviction in the senate, they will pull the trigger.

No on indictment. DOJ policies say not to indict a sitting president. Mueller isn’t going to ignore or seek to change the rules. Even the small chance of having the SOL run on the campaign finance violation while Trump is in office isn’t going to make him or SDNY not go by the book. His job is to investigate and report to Congress, not to stick Trump behind bars.

Neither.

I and those I knew laughed at Trump's announcement of candidacy. We laughed during the Republican debates. We laughed after Iowa. We laughed when he took the nomination. We laughed during the presidential debates. We never thought it would happen, at each stage of it actually happening.

And, on election night, I laughed harder than I ever laughed in my life, at oh dark thirty. It was a big laugh.

And here we are, people still predicting his utter loss and failure. All have been predicting his fall for years now. After being burned so many times, I would be crazy not to think this guy actually knows what he is doing. How does one succeed so much, all the while at each level everyone predicts defeat? I can no longer predict Trump's defeats. He has defied all the previous predictions.

For better or for worse, I think it's at least 4 years for Orange Man.

With Trump, its all about his ego and being liked.

I predict he either runs for relection and WINS, or he doesn't run at all for the next 4 years if he thinks he won't win and isn't loved by his base.
