This is great! There will probably around 5 or more female candidates, and Tulsi is in her 30s. Eric Swalwell is in his 30s too (hopefully he runs).

I really don't want anyone in their 70s to get the nomination.

People are freaking out about this woman, because she has anti- gay issues and is pro Assad, but I really think the more the merrier. Even Richard Ojeda is running. He was the first to announce. The only ones who are hurt by a big field are Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, both of which have zero chance of getting my vote in the primary.

Anyone else get the sense that "white feminism," as they call it in the East, basically means that Gabbard and AOC et al are Cliqueless and thus don't have a PRAYER of getting anywhere? It's like maximum splintering of the dem coalition, and being a WOC adds basically nothing to anyone's equation imho. Discuss.

AOC is only 29 so she actually can't run for president, but apparently Fox News doesn't realize this. They actually had a segment about what if she gets in the race. I'd like to see Stacey Abrams run, but it doesn't seem like she will. She seems pretty focused on Georgia, and they definitely need it. That state is super corrupt when it comes to voting.

She is at 3% in the latest Democratic Primary poll. You would have consider every legitimate candidate who is running as top tier, in order to consider her top tier. I would surmise that an angry black woman is going to be toxic on the national stage, even in the Democratic Primary—but we’ll see.

The polls don't mean much at this point. Jeb was ahead in the polls at this time. She's a top contender in that she's been discussed as a 2020 candidate since 2016 and has never discouraged the talk. 71% of WOC polled put her in their top 3. She could win South Carolina, and then do well in the first super Tuesday that includes California, Texas, Alabama, and other states.

I don't see her as an angry black woman, but I'd much rather have an angry black woman as president than an angry old white man.

I agree that polls don’t matter much at this point, but that and fundraising are the only unbiased metrics to go by. Also polls matter much more than merely “being discussed as a 2020 candidate..and never discouraged the talk”. Lots of people are discussed as potential candidates.

Right now, the top contenders are Bernie, Beto, Biden, and Hillary. This will certainly change as people announce, and the campaign gets into full swing. Perhaps Kamala will become a top contender, but I doubt it. If I recall correctly, she barely won the AG general election, and that wasn’t that long ago. That can’t bode well for her.

Hillary is not a top contender and not running.

It's weird to talk about Kamala's AG race when the most recent election she won was Senator, by a wide margin.

And put Cory Booker on the ticket as VP, or vice versa.
